SalesMetric's feature-rich service is available directly through our web site. Just go to http://www.salesmetric.com and log in with your account information. A computer with a browser and internet capability is all you need. Most sales groups are already on-line and need nothing else to use SalesMetric. With SalesMetric web-based sales force automation, you can log in to the internet from anywhere, at anytime, at any suitable machine, and have your entire real-time company database at your command. There is no special software to load on your system, no upgrades to worry about, and no proprietary hardware to support. The latest revision of SalesMetric, no matter when released, is always on-line, with new features awaiting your next log in. There is no synchronization between machines as with conventional software. Everyone on your team shares the exact same secure database, the exact same timely information, instantaneously. Why do you only support Microsoft® IE5 (or better)? . . . .
The capability of browsers has changed dramatically over the last 10 years. Netscape Navigator does not support many of the advanced display functions we chose to use. By selecting IE5 as our minimum browser level, this allows our programmers to offer more versatile and appealing displays of your data. As the program is also free from Microsoft®, we felt this was a reasonable decision.

How reliable is the SalesMetric service? . . . .
All aspects of the SalesMetric service are actively monitored to ensure consistent and reliable service to you. You are more likely to experience downtime problems from your ISP than from the SalesMetric service due to the multi-layer redundancies built into the service platform.
We have intentionally limited the use of graphics, eliminated advertising, and designed SalesMetric to ensure you the fastest download speed of our pages possible. When you are meeting a client on the road, you may not always have access to a streaming T-1 line. We wanted to make sure you can get your data consistently, quickly, and reliably in any environment.

How do I add users to the SalesMetric service? . . . .
Just send us an email stating how many additional users you need, and we can increase it for you quickly. The written request does need to come from any one of your authorized contacts. An authorized contact is either the registrant for the account, or anyone listed as a company contact within your account profile.

Why do you use the Microsoft® Access database engine? . . . .
We wanted to ensure that your complete database was available to you whenever you needed it. Microsoft® Access creates databases that are easy to query and generate custom reporting. It is inexpensive, and requires no costly IT labor to support it. Companies of any size can benefit from SalesMetric without getting locked into proprietary or cost prohibitive hardware platforms. Either way, the data remains entirely available to download, or review, 24/7/365. You never need to wait on us.

How do I know my database is secure? . . . .
Your vital information is not co-mingled with that of other companies. Each of our customers enjoy their own private database. Your database belongs to you and only you. Only your authorized users will have access to your confidential accounts.

How do I get a copy of my database? . . . .
Just have your administrator log in and download your entire database to your system. It is an extremely simple and quick process. You will get a .mdb file that you can open in Access, or import into SQL Server.

How do I control access rights within SalesMetric? . . . .
SalesMetric user options provide access rights configurations designed to suit your business. From external sales partners, to isolated sales offices, SalesMetric can adapt to the way you do business.
Within the Add or Edit User function, rights may be given or changed by simply checking boxes. When a single box is checked, the user has those rights and none other. When more than one box is checked, the user has the cumulative rights of the boxes checked.
The rights associated with these checkable boxes are listed here:
- System Administrator - Full rights to entire system
- Top Level Manager - Full rights to entire system, minus the user setup and administrator functions
- Manager - Full access to all subordinate's Accounts and Forecasts
- View Own Accounts Only - Limits view to those accounts owned by the user only
- View Public Accounts - Added rights to view accounts designated as "Public"
Other rights that can be assigned for editing purposes include:
- Assign Task to Others - allows the users to assign tasks.
- Edit Bulletin board - allows user to make changes to global bulletin board
- Edit Product Master - allows user to edit the product master
- Edit Sales Quota - allows non-managers to change their sales quotes

How do I create my own reports, mailing lists, et cetera? . . . .
We know that every manager likes to see his or her data presented just a little bit differently. That is why we make your entire database available to you in an .mdb format that you can open from Access or import into SQL Server. Just have your system administrator download your complete database, and then create your own queries, forms, reports, or labels, anything you need. Using Microsoft Access to format your data is simple, inexpensive, and requires no IT effort to get your data exactly the way you want it. Or you can use our versatile report engines and easily output your reports to Microsoft® Excel for further formatting by you.

Why do we need a system administrator? . . . .
Your system administrator is needed to customize your internal SalesMetric functions to suit your business needs. You can share system administrator activities among one or more people, if that works better for your company. These activities include adding and changing user access profiles or creating and updating pull down menus options to ensure consistent data collection. If you need to add or remove users, forget your password, or need to add a new part number to your products list your system administrator can take care of these tasks swiftly in SalesMetric. The ongoing time required of your system administrator is nominal compared to the effort and expense of supporting a complex hardware infrastructure and costly IT staff to run an in-house solution. We manage the hard, and expensive, parts for you.
