'Is it safe?' The answer is yes. More so, in fact, than many companies can provide on their own. The sensitive nature of the data stored within SalesMetric mandates security as paramount. There are many aspects to security and each is a vital link in this chain.
User Login - Each user within your company database requires a three-level passwording scheme. The first is the name of the user, as assigned by the system administrator; their password, changeable by the user; and the name of the company, which is assigned by SalesMetric.com. Only someone with your exact user name, password, and company account name could access your data.
Login Sessions - Users are assigned a "cookie" with an unique key to verify the users authenticity and authority within the system. The user's key is verified with each and every page request to ensure that the user can perform only authorized transactions and view allowed data.
Login sessions can be auto-logged out upon closure of the window, or after a specified length of time.
Login attempts are closely monitored, as well as the system logs, to keep watch for suspect activity. In that event we are able to trace the users, or disable the account pending further investigation.
Restricting User Access - User access rights are assigned by the System Administrator. There are multiple levels and means to provide user authorization within SalesMetric.
If a user is not given rights to perform certain tasks or functions, then the links to access these tasks or functions will not appear on their screens. The most restricted user within SalesMetric has only the "Change Password" link available under the "Administration" link list.
User Lock-out - The system administrator has the ability to lock-out any user, as needed.
Company Contacts - Other than support assistance, information is provided about your account or database to only company authorized contacts. Changes may be authorized only by authorized company contacts.
Database separation - Each database within SalesMetric is separate and no data is co-mingled amongst customers. Your database contains only the information that your company puts into it. The database is not a shared device.
Encryption - SSL (secure sockets layer) technology using 128-bit encryption is available for you to use in sending data to, and retrieving data from, your database.
Data Back-Ups - Full back-ups of your database are performed every 2 hours.
Uptime - Across all servers the current SalesMetric uptime is greater than 99.99%.
